This summer, Chef de Cuisine Alan Darr invites you to experience a different kind of dinner at McWethy's Tavern. One built around food, conversation, and the joy of gathering together.
Inspired by a fusion of flavors from Spain and the American South, "A Dinner with Chef: La Mesa del Sur" is a dining experience designed to be shared. Guests will find seating around farm tables in the courtyard where courses arrive gradually, glasses stay full, and the evening unfolds at its own pace.
THE PLAN
More than a dinner, this series is about the feeling created when great food, good company, and warm summer air come together naturally. The kind of evening where strangers become friends, conversations linger, and every seat at the table feels like it belongs.
Each menu in the "A Dinner with Chef, Al Fresco" series will reflect Chef Alan’s inspiration from places and moments where people slow down, pass plates, pour another drink, and simply enjoy being together.
THE MENU
FIRST COURSE: PIMENTO CHEESE CROQUETTES piquillo pepper jelly vinaigrette, candied Three Sisters Garden pecans
SECOMD COURSE: GREEN TOMATO GAZPACHO with olive oil cornbread
THIRD COURSE VALENCIA JAMBALAYA Anson Mills Carolina Gold saffron rice, Spanish chorizo, red Argentine shrimp
FOURTH COURSE BANANA CREME OLIVE OIL CAKE sherry cream cheese frosting, toasted sliced almonds
THE DRINKS
Spanish wines and sangrias flow throughout the evening, thoughtfully paired with each course as the evening air sets the perfect backdrop.

General Admission (21+): $95.00 per person
Your ticket includes a thoughtfully curated multi-course communal dining experience with drink pairings designed to complement each course throughout the evening.
